Emma has worked within Learning and Organization Development for many years. Her experience has been centred on working with sales teams and leaders.
She believes sales training should take on its least complicated form and from this thinking, she crafted a very clear technique specifically designed to be customer focused and not product focused. This was introduced to salespeople on Day 1 of their training and allowed the exploration of customer centric conversations that were more open and confident.
Engagement is of crucial importance and feels the best way to learn is to connect through storytelling and shared experiences.
Three years ago, she pursued a coaching qualification, understanding that sales professionals and leaders could leverage this to create individual paths in their sales journeys and how to gain effectiveness both personally and in their professional field.
Last year, she made the decision to make back into a sales role that allowed her to stay close to her L&D roots and work with organizations to map out their own journeys around change, development, and growth.

The Networking Institute firmly believe that the information age is over and they are now living in the networked age. In this age the measurement of power and influence is connectedness. The old vertical world of hierarchies has been replaced by a horizontal world of networks. We now need to continuously build our networks rather than waiting to build them when we think we need them.

The MEDDIC Sales Process
A great methodology to ensure we know the “Main Economic Buyer”. This can be anyone from a CEO to CFO in todays climate rather than a line of business owner, procurement team (who are rarely the main economic buyers – but they have to ensure their formal process is adhered to) or technical people (technical people usually only influence / recommend – unless the purchase can be made on a credit card they often don’t have such authority to make the final purchase). It’s just a framework – it may seem heavy but you can create your own templates / questions to drive conversations for each letter in MEDDPIC and ensure you have an answer for each.
